By downloading or using BesideU, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
BesideU is a mobile application that allows you to share your real-time location and travel progress with a designated partner. It is operated by Ilias Lamrani, an individual developer based in France.

You must be at least 13 years old to use BesideU. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent.
BesideU connects you with one designated partner. By connecting with a partner, you consent to sharing your real-time location with them during active trips, and to receiving their location in return. You can disconnect from your partner at any time in the app settings.
You are responsible for only connecting with people you trust. Do not use the partner feature to track someone without their explicit consent.
Free plan
The free plan allows up to 5 shared trips. Once this limit is reached, a BesideU Premium subscription is required to start new trips.
BesideU Premium
Billing. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
Restore purchases
If you reinstall the app or switch devices, use the "Restore purchase" option on the paywall screen to recover your active subscription. Restoration is based on your Apple ID — it works as long as you sign in with the same Apple ID used to make the original purchase. Creating a new Apple ID or using a different one will not restore a previous subscription.
Refunds
Subscription payments are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly.
Apple End User License Agreement
BesideU is distributed via the Apple App Store. The purchase and use of BesideU Premium is also subject to Apple's standard End User License Agreement, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These Terms of Use supplement and do not replace Apple's EULA.
You agree not to use BesideU to:
BesideU accesses your device's GPS location — including in the background — while a trip is active. You grant this permission explicitly when starting your first trip. You can revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings, but doing so will prevent trip tracking from functioning.
Your location is shared only with your designated partner and is not stored beyond the duration of an active trip. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
BesideU and all its content, design, and code are the property of Ilias Lamrani. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the app without prior written permission.
BesideU is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be available at all times, error-free, or accurate in all circumstances.
BesideU is a location-sharing tool and is not a safety or emergency service. Do not rely on it in situations requiring emergency assistance. Always contact local emergency services when needed.
Estimated arrival times are calculated using third-party mapping data (Google Maps Platform) and may not reflect real-time traffic conditions accurately.
To the fullest extent permitted by French law, Ilias Lamrani shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of BesideU, including but not limited to loss of data, personal injury, or reliance on location data.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ilias Lamrani from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of BesideU in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (c) any harm caused to a third party as a result of your use of the location-sharing features without their consent.
These Terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute arising from the use of BesideU shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also benefit from the mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
In accordance with EU Regulation No. 524/2013, you may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform to resolve disputes: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
